I always thought that basque cheesecakes aren't as good as the original New York style with the graham cracker crust because all the ones I've had were not that creamy. Well after trying this one I've realized I've just never had good basque cheesecake before. I had the original and espresso one and they were both so creamy and delicious - I couldn't stop eating it! Also the intense espresso flavour helped balance and mute the sweetest (which is a good thing). Overall highly recommend! So sad that Soft Dough Co is going to be shutting down operations for a while. Counting down the days when she is back from pastry school in Paris!
We ordered the strawberry shortcake for a birthday celebration. I was a little nervous since we had to pick up cake from downtown & transport out to Etobicoke on hot summer day to eat following evening. We did have small ice pack & soft cooler on hand. The cake was one of the nicest cakes we've had in years - very fresh, not overly sweet & beautifully made. So sad that pop-up is over. We will definitely look for you for future orders - just hope we will see you further west or affiliated with GTA delivery!
Got this cake for Father's Day, and it was divine! Super light, moist, and fresh. My mom (who typically doesn't eat a lot of cake) served herself the biggest slice. There was a bit of gold on the strawberries as well, which was a very nice touch. This is now the second cake we've ordered (the first being the classic burnt basque cheesecake) - Alice and crew have knocked it out of the park again!
